artist statement:

Painting to me is a means to capture the fascinating natural phenomena - whether landscapes, objects or people. I am trying not only to show the breathtaking beauty of nature but also the hidden order of the universe.

I specialize in oil painting in a realist style. My favourite motives are landscapes, water, still life and occassionaly people and animals.

As for the painting process I take advantage of techniques used in the past by the old masters. To make a painting I start with an underpainting, then apply thin layers of colour and finish by glazing. I have been focused on realism over the last two years. Before my shift to realist painting I made a series of abstract pictures in geometric style. My other works comprise drawings, prints, 3D works and Textile Art.

I have taken part in several group exhibitions since 1996 and have had three solo exhibitions so far.
